For over a hundred years, the sausage products of German immigrant Oscar Mayer have been popular in the United States – thanks to clever marketing. In addition to a yellow banderole on the packaging, this includes a fleet of vehicles converted into oversized sausages that are constantly on the road across the country. And, of course, there is also a catchy promotional song. In 2003, the Evolution Control Committee from Ohio, known for its crude appropriations, recognised the lyrics as a godsend and mixed them with the national anthem to create the song Star Spangled Bologna.
