Ghédalia Tazartès’ works are like films made of sound. They have something mysterious about them, often reminiscent of shamanistic rituals. Time and again, the French artist slips into the role of strong-willed artistic characters. This was already the case in 1977, when Tazartès began experimenting in his studio in Paris with field recordings, tape loops, vocals and electronics. The final track on his LP ‘Tazartès’ Transports’ is a miniature radio play in which the artist performs using only his voice.
